Description
Characterizing a filter, an amplifier or a sensor front end comes down to one loop. You feed in a known signal, then watch what comes out. The Tektronix AFG31152 function generator handles the first half with two outputs and sine waves up to 150 MHz. Lost in HCM lists it for rental and sale, so you can borrow it for a project or own it.

Using the Tektronix AFG31152 function generator in a test loop
Connect CH1 to the circuit input with a suitable coaxial cable. Then watch the circuit output on an oscilloscope through a rated probe. The second output adds a related signal, for example a trigger, a clock or a reference. Before you enable either output, choose the waveform, load setting, amplitude and offset.
Check the synchronization and phase settings that your experiment needs. Amplitude limits also change with frequency and waveform, so read the datasheet for the exact conditions.
Memory you may need to request
The standard advanced-mode memory holds 16 Mpoints per channel. A 128 Mpoints per channel upgrade exists, but it is not part of the unit unless the quote names it. Because sequencing and memory extensions change the price, list them in your first message.
Who benefits from two 150 MHz outputs
Teaching labs use the touchscreen to show students how a waveform changes a circuit. Development teams test low-voltage analog stages with repeatable stimuli. In addition, a service bench can keep a spare Tektronix AFG31152 function generator for troubleshooting. Keep the setup away from mains and high-voltage switching circuits, and confirm grounding and termination in the manuals first.

AFG31152 buyer questions
What does the 150 MHz figure describe?
It is the continuous sine range, from 1 μHz up to 150 MHz. Amplitude limits vary with frequency and waveform.
Do the two outputs run in sync?
Tell Lost in HCM which synchronization and phase behavior your test needs, then check it against the datasheet.
What load does the output expect?
The output impedance is 50 Ω. Pick the load setting before you enable an output.
