Description
A filter, an amplifier stage or a sensor front end all need a known signal before you can judge them. The Tektronix AFG1022 function generator supplies that signal on two channels, with sine waves up to 25 MHz. Lost in HCM lists it for rental and sale, so you can borrow one for a project or equip a bench.

Tektronix AFG1022 function generator: two channels, 25 MHz
The AFG1022 belongs to the AFG1000 series and offers two output channels. Its arbitrary waveform engine runs at 125 MS/s with 14-bit vertical resolution. That combination supports repeatable signal injection into low-voltage electronic circuits, so a test you run today looks the same next week.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Channels | 2 |
| Sine frequency range | 1 µHz to 25 MHz |
| Arbitrary sample rate | 125 MS/s |
| Vertical resolution | 14 bits |
| Arbitrary memory | 2 to 8,000 points, per the linked datasheet |
| Typical output impedance | 50 Ω |
| Amplitude into 50 Ω | 1 mVpp to 10 Vpp up to 25 MHz |
Set the load before you enable the output
Frequency, amplitude and offset come first, and the expected load comes with them. The displayed voltage depends on that load setting. A high-impedance input and a 50 Ω termination therefore do not see the same voltage from identical source settings. Check the datasheet limits for the waveform and frequency you choose.
A simple bench connection
Run channel 1 through a suitable coaxial cable into the circuit input. Then take the circuit output through an oscilloscope probe to scope channel 1. Tie the signal reference to the common circuit reference only where that is safe.
Remember that the output ground connects to chassis ground, so it does not float. Do not use this arrangement on mains-referenced nodes or floating high-voltage nodes.
Rental or purchase through Lost in HCM
A rental of the Tektronix AFG1022 function generator suits a design sprint or a teaching term. Purchase suits a bench that needs a stimulus every day. In both cases, the quote should list the accessories and the configuration, because Lost in HCM confirms each one individually.

AFG1022 questions
How many points can an arbitrary waveform hold?
The listing gives 2 to 8,000 points, as stated in the current linked datasheet.
Is the output floating?
No. The signal ground connects to chassis ground.
What amplitude can it deliver into 50 Ω?
From 1 mVpp to 10 Vpp at frequencies up to 25 MHz.
