Description
Tay Ninh, Gia Lai and Phu Yen turn fresh cassava roots into starch for food, paper and export. During the harvest, raspers, decanters and dryers run with few breaks. When a line finally stops, fitters rebuild pumps, screens and drives in a hurry. The Snap-on TEC250FUC Torqometer helps them refit those bolts with a value they can record in foot-pounds or kilogram-force meters.

kg·m drawings, ft-lb parts
Many starch lines combine Asian process gear with pumps and gearboxes from Europe or the U.S. As a result, one manual may give 20 kg·m while a pump sheet asks for 150 ft-lb. The TEC250FUC carries both scales, so the fitter reads each spec as printed.

The row sits in Snap-on’s Combination US/Metric Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy table. Its Torqometer pages also say that a C suffix orders the certificate of calibration model. Lost in HCM, by contrast, titles the TEC250FUC with Chart, so ask which papers ship with it.
Starch line jobs for the Snap-on TEC250FUC Torqometer
- Rasper rotor housing and bearing block bolts.
- Decanter and centrifuge base and cover bolts, as the maker allows.
- Slurry pump casing and motor mount bolts.
- Flash dryer fan, cyclone and airlock frame bolts.
Decanters and centrifuges spin fast, so their makers set strict bolt rules. Follow those first, and keep the TEC250FUC for joints with a plain value in its range.
Two needles for the job card
Snap-on’s Follow-up models show the targeted torque on one needle and the torque achieved on another. Thus a fitter can finish the pull, look at the result, and write it on the card. Meanwhile, a supervisor can check the same reading before the TEC250FUC moves to the next bolt.
Band and conversion
Lost in HCM places this wrench under Combination US/Metric Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. Snap-on holds that grade within 2% of reading from 20% of full scale up. So the TEC250FUC band opens at 50 ft-lb, or 7 kg·m, and runs to the top of the dial. In addition, 35 kg·m equals about 343 N·m, which helps when a manual uses SI units.
Wet slurry and starch dust
In practice, starch plants are wet at one end and dusty at the other. So keep the Snap-on TEC250FUC Torqometer in its PB8A case between jobs, and wipe off slurry before it dries. Never use the wrench to break a scaled bolt loose. After each season, send it to an outside lab for recalibration.

Starch plant FAQ for the TEC250FUC
Which units appear on the TEC250FUC dial?
Foot-pounds and kilogram-force meters. To get N·m, multiply any kg·m value by about 9.81.
Is it suited to decanter bowl bolts?
Only if the decanter maker gives a torque inside its band. Many bowl joints need the maker’s own tools and steps.
Does it arrive with any documents?
Lost in HCM’s title mentions a chart but gives no detail. Ask for a sample document when you request the quote.
