Description

Some M18 joints carry specs that outgrow a Y or X wrench, for example on heavy frames and large flanges. The Snap-on QZXM27ADP box end head pairs a 27 mm closed ring with Snap-on’s largest shank, the Z (0.990 in). Lost in HCM lists it with dual pins, so check that your Z body suits that pin style. That 27 mm hex fits M18 nuts under both ISO 4032 and DIN 934.

Where the QZXM27ADP sits in Snap-on’s tables

We could not find this exact part number in either Snap-on book we check. The UK torque brochure lists a 27 mm Z ring as the QZXM27A, without the DP suffix. Its row gives a 39 mm width and 17 mm depth, while the QZXM series reach is 5.75 in. The partner listing shows the same three figures for the DP part. However, the rating it gives differs from the brochure’s QZXM27A. So we show no limit here, and Lost in HCM should confirm the part, shank and rating before you order.

Z bodies and the dual-pin note for the Snap-on QZXM27ADP box end head

Snap-on’s CAT1500i lists two Z bodies. The QD4IN800A reads 150-800 N·m, or 129-572 ft-lb, on a 41-1/2 in tube that weighs 11.14 lb. Its table also carries a note on dual-pin heads. Meanwhile, the electronic CTECH4Z600A reads 30-600 ft-lb on a 44.8 in body. Ask Lost in HCM which of them accepts the Snap-on QZXM27ADP box end head before you plan the station.

When a Z ring makes sense at 27 mm

A Z tool is long and heavy, so it only pays off on high values. For moderate M18 specs, the QYXM27A or QXXM27A on a shorter body is easier to handle. On the other hand, a Z body gives leverage for the top end of the range. Also, the QZXM27ADP ring is no wider than the Y version, at 39 mm, so it fits the same pockets.

Handling a long wrench with the QZXM27ADP

With a body over 40 in long, swing room often matters more than ring room. So check the full arc before you start. Then brace your feet and pull at the grip until the signal. Snap-on also says not to break fasteners loose with these tools. Free a seized M18 nut with another tool first, and finish with the torque wrench.

Part check before you buy the Snap-on QZXM27ADP box end head

Lost in HCM supplies this head and builds the quote, while SMK Vietnam lists it on their behalf. Request a quote from Lost in HCM and name your Z body and the M18 target. Also ask for the shank, pin style and rating in writing. Other Z heads sit under torque wrench heads and adaptors, or you can contact SMK Vietnam.

Dual-pin Z ring questions on the QZXM27ADP

Is the QZXM27ADP the same part as the QZXM27A?

We cannot confirm that. The brochure lists only the QZXM27A, so ask Lost in HCM to check.

Why does the QZXM27ADP page show no torque limit?

The partner figure does not match the brochure’s 27 mm Z ring. Lost in HCM confirms the right value with the quote.

Can a QD3IN200B carry the QZXM27ADP?

No. The QD3IN200B is a Y body, and this head has a Z shank. It needs a Z body such as the QD4IN800A.
