Description
Some bolts hide below a lip, a flange or a cover edge. A straight head pushes the wrench body into that obstruction. The Snap-on QYSBXM24A box end head solves this with a 40° bend, so the body clears the edge while the 12-point box sits flat on a 24 mm hex.

Box end or open end at 24 mm?
A closed box grips every corner of the hex. Therefore it spreads the load better than an open-end head, which bears on just two flats. On the other hand, a box head must drop over the fastener from above. If a tube or cable runs through the nut, pick a flare nut or open-end head instead.
The 24 mm size also turns up often, since it is the usual hex on M16 bolts and nuts. Machine frames, pump bases and conveyor drives all carry it.
Bodies that accept this Y-shank head
On SMK Vietnam, Y-shank options include the QD3IN200B dual-scale body and the QC3P150 and QC3P200 presets. The CTECH2Y100A ControlTech wrench takes it too. Snap-on gives this series the same 3.00 in pin-to-fastener length as its standard Y heads. As a result, the dual-range bodies need no length math with it. ControlTech bodies also hold a factor for head length, which helps if you mix head styles.
Torque limit
The 40° bend table in Snap-on’s catalog shows no working-torque figure for the QYSBXM24A. So, before you plan a high setting, ask Lost in HCM to confirm the rating with Snap-on.
Daily care for the QYSBXM24A
Inspect the 12 points for rounding after heavy use, because worn corners can slip off a bolt. Also keep the shank and pin bore free of grit, so the head seats fully every time. In addition, follow Snap-on’s advice and use the head to tighten only, not to free stuck bolts.
