Description

M14 bolts hold gearboxes, pump feet and machine guards, and their nuts come in two hex sizes. Under ISO 4032 the nut measures 21 mm, while DIN 934 and older JIS tables use 22 mm. The Snap-on QYOM21A open end head covers the ISO size on a Y-shank (0.560 in) body.

ISO or DIN on your M14 joints?

Newer metric hardware usually follows ISO sizing, yet older parts and local spares may follow DIN. So one assembly can mix both. Therefore, gauge the actual nut before you choose the QYOM21A. If it reads 22 mm, the QYOM22A is the right jaw instead.

Why the QYOM21A rating is missing

CAT1500i and the UK brochure give this head different limits. In fact, the UK figure equals the X-head figure in CAT1500i. Rather than pick a side, we omit both numbers. Lost in HCM then confirms the correct value on the quote.

The head is about 9 mm deep, and the two Snap-on sources place its width at 43 to 44 mm. That slim profile slips between a gearbox casting and a guard rail. Even so, a 23 in Y body needs a clear arc behind the nut. So plan the approach angle before the job starts.
