Description
Some crews already own Y-shank wrenches and want one more small jaw for them. The Snap-on QYOM15A open end head adds a 15 mm opening to that kit. Snap-on rates it at 74 ft-lb, so it covers many light fittings without a second wrench system.

74 ft-lb in N·m terms
CAT1500i prints 74 ft-lb for the Snap-on QYOM15A open end head. The UK torque brochure lists 885 in-lb, which converts to the same figure. In metric terms, that is about 100 N·m. As a result, a plant spec written in N·m reads easily against the limit.
Y-shank bodies that cover the Snap-on QYOM15A open end head
- QD3IN200B, dual scale, 40 to 200 N·m (37 to 140 ft-lb)
- QC3P150 preset, 30 to 150 ft-lb
- QC3P200 preset, 40 to 200 ft-lb
Each body can reach 74 ft-lb, yet each also goes well past it. Therefore, set the dial with care and never above the head limit. For example, a QD3IN200B at 100 N·m sits right at the QYOM15A ceiling.
Where the Snap-on QYOM15A open end head fits: 15 mm flats
ISO 4032 and DIN 934 use 15 mm for no common coarse nut. M10 takes 16 or 17 mm instead. So a 15 mm hex usually belongs to a fitting, a sensor body, a valve spindle or a special nut. Measure the flats first, because the next QYOM jaws up and down sit only 1 mm away.
Depth and width
Both Snap-on sources put the QYOM15A head depth at about 7 mm. However, they disagree on its outside width, so we leave that figure out. Check the side room around the part before you order. Its pin sits 3.00 in from the fastener center, like every Y head.
Lost in HCM handles the QYOM15A quote
SMK Vietnam lists the head on behalf of its partner. Request a quote from Lost in HCM and include the hex, the target torque and your Y body. Neighbor jaws such as the QYOM14A appear under torque wrench heads and adaptors; you can also contact SMK Vietnam.
QYOM15A buyer questions
Does the QYOM15A suit an M10 nut?
Usually not. ISO M10 nuts use 16 mm and DIN M10 nuts use 17 mm, so a 15 mm jaw would not fit.
Which Y body suits a 70 ft-lb spec?
All three Y bodies cover 70 ft-lb. The QC3P150 preset suits a repeat value, while the QD3IN200B suits changing specs.
Is 74 ft-lb the same as 885 in-lb?
Yes, near enough. Snap-on’s US catalog uses ft-lb and its UK brochure uses in-lb, and both figures agree.
