Description
European machines often use DIN hardware, and DIN 933 and DIN 934 give M12 a 19 mm hex. On covers, light guards and aluminum blocks, those M12 joints often call for a modest value. The Snap-on QJXM19A box end head handles them with a closed 19 mm ring on Snap-on’s smallest shank. So a short J body can reach under a ledge and still hold all six corners.

Why a J shank on a 19 mm ring?
Snap-on makes 19 mm rings for three shanks: J, Y and X. The J version, however, keeps the whole tool light and short. That helps on assembly lines, where a fitter repeats the same value hundreds of times a shift. Heavier Y and X rings, by contrast, belong on steel M12 joints with firm specs. In short, choose the QJXM19A when the value is low and the space is tight.
- Opening: 19 mm, 12-point, closed.
- Shank: J (0.425 in).
- O.D.: 28 mm, so allow about 14 mm from bolt center to wall.
- Head depth: 12 mm.
- Fastener center to locking pin: 2.50 in (QJXM series).
The partner listing and Snap-on’s brochure give different maximum working torques for this ring. Therefore, Lost in HCM states the limit with your quote, and we leave it off here.
J wrenches that drive the Snap-on QJXM19A box end head
For metric job sheets, the QD2IN100A reads 20-100 N·m (16.6-71.9 ft-lb) on a 14-1/2 in tube. Meanwhile, the 13 in QC2I75 adjusts from 5 to 75 ft-lb, and the 11 in QC2P75 holds one preset value. If a joint goes into soft metal, the QD2IN50A covers 10-50 N·m instead. Each scale may run past the ring limit, so set it at or below the figure Lost in HCM gives.
Will a 19 mm ring fit a 3/4 in hex?
Not safely. A 3/4 in hex measures 19.05 mm, which is slightly larger than the ring opening. So the QJXM19A may not seat, and forcing it can damage both parts. Instead, use an inch ring for inch hardware, and keep this one for DIN M12 parts.

19 mm J ring questions
Which bolt standard uses a 19 mm hex?
German DIN 933 bolts and DIN 934 nuts use 19 mm for M12, while ISO 4032 uses 18 mm. So check the flats first.
When does a Y or X ring make more sense at 19 mm?
Step up when your M12 spec passes the limit Lost in HCM confirms for the QJXM19A, or when your station already runs a Y or X body.
How much clearance does the QJXM19A need?
About 14 mm from the bolt center to a wall, since the ring is 28 mm across. It also stands 12 mm tall.
