Description
Plenty of bolts on European-built machines take a 17 mm wrench. The Snap-on QJBOERM17A box end head covers that hex with a 12-point ratcheting ring on a J shank. So a fitter can spin the nut down and then finish the torque without a tool change.

M10 bolts and the Snap-on QJBOERM17A box end head
A 17 mm hex usually means an M10 bolt to DIN 933. However, ISO 4017 puts M10 on a 16 mm hex. So two M10 bolts in the same machine may need different heads. Measure the flats, or check the bolt standard on the drawing, before you order.
Size steps around the QJBOERM17A
For a 16 mm hex, Snap-on lists the QJBOERM16A, at 30.5 mm across and 11 mm deep. At 18 mm, the QJBOERM18A grows to 34.5 mm. Both of those sizes also come on a Y shank. At 17 mm, by contrast, Snap-on offers the J version only. Thus a Y-body user needs a different route for a 17 mm nut.
Setting a J body for the QJBOERM17A
The head keeps the 2.50 in J spacing, so Snap-on’s QD2IN50A and QD2IN100A dual-range bodies read directly. The QC2I75 and QC1I200 adjustable bodies also accept it. Snap-on’s ratcheting box end table prints no working torque for this head, though. Therefore, confirm the limit with Lost in HCM before you set the wrench.
QJBOERM17A ratchet upkeep
Metal chips can jam a ratchet ring and make it skip under load. So blow the QJBOERM17A clean after dusty work and store it in a closed tray. Also leave seized nuts to a breaker bar. Finally, keep the body on a periodic recalibration plan.

What clearance does the QJBOERM17A need?
The catalog gives a 32 mm outside diameter and a 12 mm head depth.
Why does a 12-point ring help?
