Small hex heads round off quickly when a tool bears on only two flats. The Snap-on IZ14IR9X12 insert ring avoids that with a closed 14 mm ring. It plugs into the 9 x 12 mm IZO/ISO receiver of a compact electronic torque wrench. As a result, one wrench can switch between bolt sizes in seconds.

Snap-on calibrates its wrenches from 20 to 100% of full scale, which gives the starting points above. Therefore match the body to the joint value first, and then add the ring. CAT1500i prints no limit for IZO inserts, so the joint spec and the wrench scale govern.
