Description
Large bolts punish weak tooling. The Snap-on CTECHBN340A torque wrench steps up to that work with a 340 N·m capacity. It is a ControlTech ISO wrench, and its 14 x 18 mm receiver takes the larger class of interchangeable heads.

Why a 14 x 18 mm receiver
Larger receivers pair with larger, sturdier heads, which suit higher loads. So the CTECHBN340A uses the 14 x 18 mm size rather than 9 x 12. Heads for the CTECHAN30A and CTECHAN135A therefore will not fit here. Plan a separate head set for this wrench from the start.
What 340 N·m covers
340 N·m is about 251 ft-lb. That reaches into heavy bolting on trucks, construction machines and plant equipment. Still, keep your usual targets inside the upper middle of the capacity, not right at the top. For values far above it, a torque multiplier is usually the better tool than the CTECHBN340A.
Heavy-duty uses for the Snap-on CTECHBN340A torque wrench
- Track, axle and frame bolts on excavators and loaders.
- Pump, compressor and turbine flanges in power plants.
- Wheel nuts on trucks and buses, with a suitable head.
- Steel structure joints and anchor bolts on site.
Safe handling at high torque
Brace your feet and pull with a steady, even force. Also keep your body clear of the swing path in case a head slips. On overhead work, a second person can steady the wrench while you pull.
Storage and calibration
Rest the wrench flat in its case, with the heads in their own slots. In addition, inspect each head for cracks or wear on the end fitting. Then return the CTECHBN340A for calibration on your plant’s interval, or sooner after a drop.
