Description
A new board on the bench usually needs more than one rail. With a Rohde & Schwarz NGE103B rental, one compact box feeds the core, the I/O and a sensor at the same time. Each channel floats on its own, so you can stack or share outputs without ground loops.

Three outputs, many setups
Each of the three channels runs from 0 to 32 V and from 0 to 3 A, up to 33.6 W per channel and 100 W in total. Because the channels are galvanically isolated, you can wire them in series for up to 96 V. Or you can join them in parallel for up to 9 A. So one unit covers most board-level work, from a 3.3 V MCU to a 48 V motor driver.
Protection also comes per channel. An electronic fuse and overvoltage protection trip before a fault reaches your prototype. In addition, EasyArb lets you program voltage ramps, which helps with brown-out testing.
Where teams use a rented NGE103B
- Firmware benches where each engineer needs a clean, controllable supply.
- IoT and sensor prototypes that run on several rails.
- Small burn-in racks at EMS plants during a new product ramp.
- University labs that need many identical supplies for one semester.
Remote control for scripts
USB and LAN come as standard, and WLAN is an option. Therefore you can script power cycles from a test PC, then log the results with the rest of your data.
Is a Rohde & Schwarz NGE103B rental the right size?
Add up the worst-case power on every rail first. If the total stays under 100 W and no rail needs more than 32 V or 3 A alone, this model fits. However, if one load needs more current, plan to parallel two channels. For anything above 9 A, ask Lost in HCM about a higher-power supply instead.
Unpack, test, return
When the supply arrives, check the safety terminals and the mains cord. Then switch on with no load and confirm that each channel reaches its set voltage. Before return, remove your test leads and reset any saved settings, so the next user starts clean.

NGE103B questions
Can I get 9 A from one supply?
Yes. You can connect the three channels in parallel for up to 9 A at up to 32 V.
Can I control it from a PC?
Yes. USB and LAN come as standard, and wireless control is an option.
Will it protect a fragile prototype?
Each channel has an electronic fuse and overvoltage protection, so you can set a safe limit before you power up.
