One channel, three ceilings
The single output has a voltage ceiling, a current ceiling and a power ceiling. Because one channel carries the whole 40 W, the channel limit and the instrument limit are the same number. So 35 V and 6 A can never apply together. Roughly, 6 A is available up to about 6.7 V, and at 35 V you can draw about 1.1 A.
