Description

Not every RF bench needs a flagship analyzer. The Keysight N9000B signal analyzer fits that need. It is a CXA, the cost-effective X-Series model, and it tunes from 9 kHz up to 26.5 GHz depending on options. Lost in HCM also lists it for rental and sale, with service on request.

What the CXA does well

Frequency range 9 kHz to 26.5 GHz, option dependent
Maximum analysis bandwidth 25 MHz
DANL at 1 GHz -163 dBm
Phase noise at 1 GHz, 10 kHz offset -110 dBc/Hz
Typical amplitude accuracy at 1 GHz Plus or minus 0.5 dB
Real-time spectrum analysis Not supported

The 25 MHz figure needs Option B25, because standard bandwidth depends on the configuration. Installed options also change the rest, so the serial-number configuration in your quote decides what you receive.

More than a sweep

Measurement applications also extend the analyzer into EMI, phase noise and digital demodulation work. An optional tracking generator then adds response tests with a built-in source. The multi-touch screen and automation support suit a bench or a production line.

Know the limit before you book

This analyzer does not support real-time spectrum analysis. So choose a real-time platform if you must capture gap-free bursts. For steady signals, spurs and harmonics, however, the CXA does a lot for a mid-range tool.

Typical work for the Keysight N9000B signal analyzer

  • RF design verification and manufacturing test.
  • Spur, harmonic and distortion measurements, such as on amplifiers.
  • EMI pre-compliance investigation, for example before a lab visit.
  • IoT and wireless signal analysis with licensed applications.

Buyers also compare it with the Rohde & Schwarz FPL1000 and the Tektronix RSA5000B. Then review the frequency option, bandwidth, noise floor, phase noise, tracking generator and preamplifier against your plan.

Ordering notes

Measurement applications vary by unit, so list the ones you need. Please request a quote from Lost in HCM for the Keysight N9000B signal analyzer. Include your frequency option, bandwidth, tracking generator needs, dates and delivery site. The spectrum and signal analyzers range shows related models, and you can contact SMK Vietnam for advice. The Keysight website holds the official data.
