Description
A converter under development rarely shows its worst case on day one, so define the test points early. The Keysight N8928A DC power supply, an N8900 Series autoranging unit rated 500 V, 60 A and 10000 W, can then feed them. It takes 208 VAC three phase. Lost in HCM lists it for rental, repair and sale in Vietnam.

Defining operating points before you choose
First, write down the voltage and current at each step, because the rating is a limit and not a target. Then add the transient behavior and the ripple you can accept. In addition, decide how long each step lasts and what counts as a pass. Record the final settings in the test procedure, so a colleague can repeat the run.
How the 10 kW curve falls across the range
| Output voltage | Approximate current ceiling |
|---|---|
| 500 V | About 20 A |
| 250 V | About 40 A |
| About 167 V or lower | 60 A |
The table shows why 500 V and 60 A never appear together. So check each of your points against the Keysight data sheet.

From the design lab to the factory floor
Design teams use a source like this for boards, subsystems and finished products once the questions become measurable limits. Factory teams then reuse the same procedure for screening and endurance runs. Also trial the automation driver on one station before you roll it out.
Rent the Keysight N8928A DC power supply for a peak in R&D load, or buy it for permanent use. For a faulty unit, send Lost in HCM the serial number, the symptoms and photographs. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM. You can also browse more power supplies, read about Keysight, or contact SMK Vietnam.
N8928A questions
What should I define before choosing?
Define the operating points, the transient behavior and the ripple you can accept. Then check them against the data sheet.
Can I get 60 A at 500 V?
No, because 10000 W allows about 20 A at 500 V. The full 60 A applies only at about 167 V or lower.
Can I trial it before a production rollout?
Yes, so rent it first. That way you test the driver and the procedure on one station.
