Description
Some test jobs need 50 V, and others need 3 A, but never both at once. The Keysight N6762A DC power module handles that with an autoranging output inside a 100 W limit. It is a precision module for N6700 and N6705 systems. Lost in HCM lists it for rental and sale, and it arranges service on request.

Rated output
| Outputs | 1 |
|---|---|
| Maximum voltage | 50 V |
| Maximum current | 3 A |
| Maximum power | 100 W |
| Architecture | Autoranging |
| Output response time | 0.1 ms |
| Module width | Single slot |
| Sensing | Four-wire remote sense |
Think in power, not in two limits
The headline voltage and current do not apply together. At 50 V and 3 A the product would pass 100 W, so the module keeps you inside its rated power envelope. Plan each test as a point on that envelope. For instance, a low-voltage test can draw its full current, while a high-voltage test draws less.
What autoranging gives you
An autoranging output covers many voltage and current combinations with one module. Therefore a lab can use a single slot for several device types instead of stocking fixed-range supplies. That helps shared benches, where each project needs different levels.
Speed, sensing and control
The output responds in 0.1 ms, so it keeps pace with changing loads. Four-wire remote sense compensates for voltage drop in the load leads. Besides that, you can adjust the slew rate, run LIST mode, log data and generate arbitrary waveforms.
Using the Keysight N6762A DC power module
- Powering device-under-test rails and ATE fixture resources
- Embedded, automotive and industrial electronics development
- Multi-rail power sequencing and production verification
- Bench analysis with an N6705 DC power analyzer
A compatible mainframe takes several independently configured outputs, within its slot and power limits.
Before you request
Check the total power of every module that will share the mainframe. Then confirm the firmware, the slot, the cables and the interface. Rental and used units can vary by serial number, so a clear description helps Lost in HCM compare equal setups.

N6762A questions
Can it give 50 V and 3 A together?
No. Maximum voltage and maximum current are not available at the same time, so stay within the rated power envelope.
How quick is the output?
The output response time is 0.1 ms.
Does it need a mainframe?
Yes. It is intended for compatible N6700 systems and N6705 DC power analyzers.
